JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Pastry Cook
Reports to: Executive Chef and Pastry Chef
Job Class: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:
Pastry Cook responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, and speciality items in connection with Private and Public Events or Wine Dinners.

Overview of Responsibilities:
Tasks include, but are not limited to:

● Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely; notify Pastry Chef of any deficiencies, breakages, excessive wear and tear
● Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and alert Chef of any issues, including avoiding cross contamination
● Meet with Pastry Chef and/or Executive Chef to review assignments, BEOs, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
● Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies; maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including, but not limited to, dating all product to maintain freshness and to track “use by” dates
● Check production schedule and par
● Establish priority items for the day
● Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, allergens, and food presentation
● Check dishes for accuracy, presentation and temperature before passing to food runners for delivery
● Support other tasks as needed and perform other related duties as assigned by Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, or Management
● As applicable, perform receivership duties
● Maintain professionalism at all times in all working and guest areas
● Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards
