Head Barista - AM


Description
We are looking for a full-time barista to start training immediately (next week) that is available to work a consistent schedule of Monday-Friday 7am-3pm.

The Barista & Counter Team Members will be key members of the team - providing a great, consistent experience for our neighborhood guests on a daily basis. They will be knowledgeable about all menu items and provide high-quality, fast-paced customer service.
• Prepares and serves authentic Italian espresso and coffee drinks, including coffee art
• Provides assistance during breakfast service including serving food, clearing tables, resetting tables, stocking supplies, and more
• Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation description upon request
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea and drink preparation and products
• Accurately rings in orders on the POS, processes payments, gives accurate change, abides by all cash handling standards
• Cleans/Sanitize work areas, organized and compliant with Department of Health standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Previous barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred
• Experience creating latte art
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production
• Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso creation
• Cash Handling and POS experience

Experience and Skill Set:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a comparable position
Professional appearance, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Abilities:
Ability to do each of the hourly employees job functions within the dining room.
Ability to communicate well and maintain good interpersonal relations with co-workers and guests.
Ability to frequently bend, lift and carry trays, cases or bins of ice weighing up to 45 pounds.
Ability to utilize all equipment used in the restaurant.
Ability to remain standing and on floor during the entire shift.
Ability to handle stress of interacting with co-workers and guests, handling guest complaints and dealing with time constraints.
Ability to use independent judgment to satisfy guest requests and deciding when a guest has had enough to drink.
Ability to remain flexible, to accommodate special and unplanned situations.
Ability to be mobile in work area, and between work station and storage areas.
