Ivy Asia Commis Chef
Description
We are looking for a commis chef for The Ivy Asia restaurant which is part of the The Ivy Manchester in Spinningfields.
You will be preparing and serving such dishes, as Black Cod with miso, Yellowtail Sashimi, with white truffle and a chilli & tosazu dressing and beautiful Wagyu Beef Tataki with pickled vegetables.
Who are we?
On the second floor of The Ivy Spinningfields Manchester, is The Ivy Asia, a glamorous late night bar and restaurant serving Asian-inspired cocktails alongside a selection of small sharing dishes. The entire floor is illuminated with a show-stopping green, semi-precious stone floor, set against a striking antique gold mirrored bar, gold-gilt ceiling and luxurious Asian fabrics. With a resident DJ every evening creating the soundtrack to your night in Ivy Asia. The Geisha Room, a stunning private room with bespoke mirrored artwork, is also available to hire privately.
The bar, which is open until late, holds a wide range of spirits including a Japanese whisky collection, as well as offering a drinks menu featuring both classic and inventive cocktails.
As a commis chef, previous kitchen experience is required. We will also provide training, development and a chance to progress within the company.
You will:
• Prepare, cook and present dishes within your section, according to specification
• Assist other sections of the kitchen in the production and service of food and the cleaning down of the section as and when required
• Be an excellent communicator.
• Ensure good hygiene, health and safety in the kitchen
• Be able to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
