Job description

Greeting and Seating Guests:

  • Welcoming guests as they enter the lounge.
  • If the Hostesses are unavailable, answer the phone. The phone MUST be picked up within two rings, never three.

Taking and Serving Orders:

  • Presenting menus, describing specials, and making recommendations.
  • Taking food and drink orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicating orders to the kitchen or bar staff.
  • After orders are taken, all orders must be entered into Toast immediately.

Food and Beverage Knowledge:

  • Having a thorough understanding of the menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Answering guest questions about menu items, including allergen information.

Delivering Food and Drinks:

  • Serving food and drinks to guests promptly and accurately.
  • Ensuring that all orders are presented neatly and as described.
  • Bussing all tables are mandatory by ALL staff members.

Customer Service:

  • Providing exceptional customer service by attending to guest inquiries, concerns, or special requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Addressing and resolving any guest complaints or issues effectively.

Monitoring Guest Needs:

  • Regularly checking on guests to ensure they have everything they need.
  • Refilling drinks, clearing empty dishes, and offering dessert or additional items as appropriate.

Payment Processing:

  • Presenting bills to guests and processing payments.
  • Handling cash, credit card payments, and providing change as needed.

Maintaining a Clean and Organized Workstation:

  • Keeping the bar or serving area clean and organized.
  • Restocking supplies, such as glassware, napkins, and garnishes.

Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations:

  • Adhering to food safety and alcohol service regulations.
  • Ensuring responsible alcohol service and not overserving guests.

Upselling and Promotions:

  • Promoting restaurant specials, events, and menu items to increase sales.
  • Encouraging guests to try additional items, such as appetizers or desserts.

Teamwork:

  • Collaborating with other servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Communicating with the kitchen regarding any special guest requests or dietary restrictions.
