Assistant Purchasing Manager


Description

Job Description

 

·         Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to determine purchasing needs and specifications.

·         Source suppliers and obtain competitive bids for goods and services.

·         Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with vendors while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

·         Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders and contracts.

·         Monitor inventory levels and anticipate demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.

·         Implement inventory management systems to track stock movements and minimize waste.

·         Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with safety standards.

·         Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement.

·         Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, reliability, and responsiveness.

·         Address any issues or disputes with vendors promptly and professionally.

·         Assist in developing and managing the purchasing budget, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.

·         Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiation.

·         Monitor expenditures and variances, providing regular reports to management.

·         Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards related to procurement practices.

·         Mitigate procurement-related risks by implementing appropriate controls and safeguards.


Requirements

 

·         Proven experience in purchasing or procurement in a 4 to 5 star hotel.

·         Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

·         Strong negotiation skills and ability to build productive vendor relationships.

·         Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands.
