Description
The Maître D' is responsible for supervising the host staff, welcoming guests and assigning tables to them, taking reservations, ensuring the restaurant is efficiently booked and that guests are satisfied.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage Host team
• Orchestrate strategic seating plans
• Understand grid configuration and optimization
• Exude and instill exemplary Hospitality standards at all times
• Identify guests in relations to their needs, regularity, and time of dinning, food and drink choice, seat preference etc.
• Identify all regulars and VIP customers
• Review all names in reservations and ensure special occasions Birthday / Anniversary etc.
• Be the liaison with head of reservations to maximize daily bookings
• Identify inefficiencies in booking sheets and to develop solutions to the problems
• Work closely with local concierges and other agents to increase bookings
• Communicate with the duty manager continuously to update the dynamics of the reservations, delays, cancellations in order to avoid unnecessary table chasing or rigid return time policy
• Train all reception members according to the training manual and update the training manual as it needed
• Complete daily logbook, daily reports and other tasks as assigned by General Manager
• Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling
• Performs other related activities as assigned by Management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years experience as a Maître D' of a fine dining or similar caliber concept
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required

Physical/Special Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds often.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
- Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff the Line Cook position

Work Environment:
- Able to withstand fluctuations in temperature within work environment, from high heat to below freezing
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
