The Receiver is responsible for receiving all food and beverage
products when delivered on property; Verifying accuracy of invoices and
fitness of product prior to accepting deliveries; Putting away all
product and maintain organized storage areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete opening side work checklist for shift daily

Maintain cleanliness of all storage areas: dry storage, walk-in cooler,
freezers, paper good storage, chemical storage, beverage storage, and
any other storage areas
- Verify all product orders upon delivery, including cross-checking
amounts against purchase orders and invoices, and verifying quality of
the product itself meets Company standards
- Inform Chef , Sous Chef, or General Manager of issues with product
quality or discrepancies between purchase orders, delivery quantities
and/or invoices
- Record and/or unpack all items received, following procedures specified by LDV management
- Inform Chef and/or Sous Chef of any product, materials or equipment needs
- Assist Chef and/or Sous Chef with product inventory to prepare weekly food orders, as needed
- Maintain positive relations with vendors and delivery personnel
- Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards for all storage areas
- Complete closing side work checklist for shift daily
- Inform Chef, Sous Chef, or General Manager immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
- Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
- Manage dish washers and porters to maintain an clean work environment
- Make sure all garbage and boxes are taken out in a correct and timely manner
- Make sure there is a weekly cleaning of garbage room
- Make sure all garbage and recycling cans are washed with bleach 2 times per week
Qualifications:
- Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
- Must have basic math skills
- Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
- Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for vendor relations
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Handle exposure to some chemicals and frying oil used
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- Perform all other duties assigned by the management
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
Education, Experience, Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as kitchen receiver of a fine dining restaurant or upscale hotel
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
- Complete NY food handlers license in no longer that 30 days from hire date
Physical/Special Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds often.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
- Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff the Kitchen Receiver position
Work Environment:
- Able to withstand fluctuations in temperature within work environment, from high heat to below freezing
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
